Finding One’s Calling in Life

A shocking 97% of people say they do not know their purpose in life. Many students change majors several times during their undergraduate years. Few people find joy in their daily work. Too many have found “follow your bliss” to be painfully simplistic.

Vocation, or calling in life, should align with purpose. This is a basic understanding in Christianity and seems to me to be similar to Buddhism’s “Right Livelihood.” Are you — or your soon to be adult child — one who would like some light shed on this topic? Needing help with the next step?

Updated offering. I have had a 2 day seminar in finding one’s calling in life, originally meant for high school and college students in private Christian school. (If you run such a school, contact me now!) Ask for “Destiny Discovery.” However, I have had considerable interest from people already in the workforce. So, now, that is available on a one to one basis.

But now, I have also, if desired paired up the seminar, (already based on science, inner guidance, and current career information) now with God Talks coaching. God Talks is a simple, powerful procedure for inner guidance, a movement founded by Ed Rush and not dependent upon any particular religious doctrine.

So now, beyond the initial hours of paper instruments and career information, there is more help with inner guidance, and coaching for implementation. Now, no more changing majors five times. Now, no more doctorates in underwater basketweaving when earning money was the goal. Now, more dis-satisfaction in the work world. And a lot more help with implementation steps.

What is that worth?

Think about what changing a major means. USNews reports that average college tuition for 2 semesters at a public, in-state school is $11,370. (And $25,400 public out-of=state, and $45,000 at private. ) So, if changing a major means only 1 semester lost (and it can mean often 3 depending on how far along and what the requirements are) and only a lower cost school, it means more than $5,000.00 lost. (up to 22,500 again with only 1 semester extra.) How many times do you want to pay even the minimum $5k for your students’ change of major? (Or maybe $60K, if private college). Not counting living expenses!

Or, what does it mean to be slaving away at a job you hate later, maybe while you have children and a mortgage? And how long between real jobs? You can see, that investment in vocational clarity would help — and would be a great great savings.

The in-person Destiny Discovery program, with paper and pencil tests, info career data, and listening exercises, and some brief guidance on application to jobs and/or entrance into college, along with bibliography on the basic research — runs $2,000. Can be spread over several sessions and virtual.

The God Talks coaching normally runs $5,000. The typical God Talks deal is this : Virtual, secure meetings twice a month, 6 15 minute emergency meetings, God Talks book, worksheets, and bonus material. Six months coaching for $4,999.00 (Workbook and book included.)

Choose Destiny Discovery and God Talks coaching together (available only from Sharon Sarles) and save $1,000. So, you get the full Destiny Discovery to find vocational direction, you get the full deal on coaching in hearing from God, and you get mentoring in implementation steps for college entrance or job application — for six months following. Choose programs together, and save a full thousand. So, only $5,999.00. (Rather than $2K + $5K, so saving $1K) Monthly payment plans available.

Social Proof – Destiny Discovery from those already in workforce

Also, great marks from test case adults at OCI’s residential center who did Destiny Discovery! They loved it, but names must be confidential. Just saying: they loved it.

Social Proof – from the hardest of all: my college students whom I advised as well as taught

(I taught at the freshman/sophomore community college level. My specialty was helping students be successful who had not been successful previously. I had one of the highest retention rates in the department. I ended up doing lots of advising. More, apparently than the Advising Department. Another specialty was getting through school quickly. And certainly, primarily, on how to do school well so as to be prepared for the next step, whether graduate school or workforce.)
