Last Saturday’s UMC Weekday Educators’ Conference was a big success. Met Dr. Maggie MacGuire and really enjoyed her presentation. Treat to see old friends and make new ones.
“Assessments that Help,” my first workshop was so popular that it had to be moved to the Choir Room. Everyone agreed they wanted more time on the topic. Discovered that there was an extreme variety of level of familiarity with the topic. Some were so involved that they demanded answers and got me off my outline. A few are not using assessment or reports to parents at all. The wave I see hitting is not here yet. There is time, then, to prepare. Let me show you how. My session on Power Partnering (or How to Handle Difficult People) was also a great time. People said I was funny! How could that be? Anyway, participants snatched up my book : Peace Skills: Swim with the Dolphins, not with the Sharks. If you want one and didn’t get one, please go to www.amazon.com.
What they are saying….
“My solution genie!” Michael Morgan of Morgan Printing
“Very professional.” Harvey Madison, Madison Photography Center for Critical Thinking
“I enjoyed Sharon’s enthusiasm, eagerness to connect with her audience and her down to earth personality that really brought forth new tactics in teaching, but also interesting insights to people skills in all! I will implement much of her lesson into my classroom as well as my home and personal life.”
“I’d like to have her back everyday.” Owner, ABC Preparatory Academy
How could this session be improved? No, this was perfect actually. Loved that it allowed for discussion.
“Knowledge of presenter is outstanding; makes it easy to sit through training.”
“Very helpful to use in my classroom.”
“I love love loved the tidbits of the history of teaching you included…. I would love to dig deeper into how … education has changed and [talk about how to] “get back to basics.”
